Optimistic Closures is an independent publication launched in June 2023 by me, Christopher Free.
I started this site to capture what I'm learning while building for Apple's platforms and to show more of the human side of engineering. I've spent 20+ programming and for about 99% of that time I had convinced myself I was a total hack; some kind of imposter; just lucky.
This site is about tearing down that kind of thinking (for me and for you) by being honest, showing my work, and not pretending as though I just woke up knowing this stuff.
